The Foundation has an award/grant for every stage of your medical career. For people in the beginning stages of planning their career, we offer a variety of mentorship and networking opportunities through our awards for students, residents and fellows.

PRECEPTORSHIPS

Preceptorships provide students and residents the opportunity to learn more about rheumatology and careers in the field by support one-on-one, real-world learning experiences. These awards include:

• Medical and Graduate Student Preceptorship
  A full-time clinical or research mentorship with an established rheumatology professional; students can choose a four- or eight-week clinical preceptorship or an eight-week research preceptorship.
  
  
• Lawren H. Daltroy Preceptorship in Health Communication
  The Lawren H. Daltroy Preceptorship in Health Communication was established with the aim of improving patient-clinician interactions and communications

ACR CONVERGENCE AWARDS

Convergence is an incredible opportunity for students, residents and fellows to receive exposure to the rheumatology community through networking and abstract presentations. The Foundation’s ACR Convergence Awards offers students the chance to receive this exposure and get paid for it. These awards include:

• Medical & Graduate Student Achievement Award
  An opportunity to experience the field firsthand at ACR Convergence; before applying, students must submit an abstract to the annual meeting.
  
  
• Medical and Pediatric Resident Research Award
  An opportunity to experience the field firsthand and present an abstract at ACR Convergence; before applying, residents must submit an abstract to the annual meeting.
